Privacy Policy

Cosma (“Cosma,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a personal celestial assistant: horoscopes, your natal chart, dream journaling and answers, all read from your real sky. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Cosma you agree to this policy.

In short

• Cosma works without registration — no email, phone number, or password. Your profile is anonymous and tied to your device.
• The readings are generated by AI. Your birth details are never sent to the AI models — only chart data computed from them, plus the dream texts and questions you write (see “AI-generated readings” below).
• We show no ads, run no third-party analytics or tracking, and never sell your personal data.
• You can delete your account from inside the app — immediately and irreversibly.

1. Information we collect

• Anonymous profile. On first launch the app creates a profile identified by an internal account id and a device identifier we generate ourselves and keep in your device’s keychain. Because the keychain outlives the app, reinstalling Cosma reconnects you to the same profile. There is no email, phone number, or password.
• Your details and birth data. During onboarding we ask for the name you want to be called, how you identify (gender), and your birth details: birth date, birth time (if you know it), and birth place (its name and coordinates, with the time zone). This is the core data every reading is computed from.
• People you add. If you add another person (for compatibility or their horoscope), we store the details you enter about them: a name or label, their relation to you, gender, and their birth data. Please only add details you are allowed to share; we use them solely to compute readings for you, and they are deleted with your account.
• Dreams. The dream descriptions you write in the journal, the AI interpretation generated for them, and the dream image the app creates. Dreams are private to your account — not even our own staff tools can display them (section 4).
• Questions (“Ask the stars”). The questions you ask and the answers you receive, kept as your conversation history.
• Dictation stays on your device. If you dictate a dream or a question, the microphone and speech recognition run on your device only: the transcription is placed into the text field for you to edit, and no audio is ever sent to us.
• Purchases. If subscriptions are offered, they are processed by the Apple App Store; we receive entitlement status only and never your card or payment details.

2. What we do NOT collect

• No device telemetry: no analytics events, no device model or OS statistics, no usage profiles.
• No precise location (your birth place is what you type in, not where your phone is).
• No contacts, photos, health data, or advertising identifiers.
• No third-party analytics, no ad networks, no data brokers — and we do not sell your personal data.
• Your IP address is used transiently to protect the service from abuse (rate limiting) and is not stored with your profile.

3. AI-generated readings

Cosma’s readings — horoscopes, natal-chart interpretations, compatibility and career readings, dream interpretations, dream images, and chat answers — are generated by large language models. When a reading is generated, the content needed for it is sent to our AI gateway, OpenRouter, which routes the request to the AI model provider running the selected model (currently models operated by Google and OpenAI). The reply is returned to the app and stored with your account.

What is sent is deliberately minimal:

• Your raw birth details and names are never sent to the AI models. The astrological chart is computed on our own servers; only the resulting placements (for example “Sun in Leo, 5th house”) reach the model.
• Your dream texts, your questions, and your conversation history are sent when they are what the reading is about.
• No account identifier accompanies these requests to the AI providers.

We do not use this content for advertising and we do not sell it. Because AI generation is how Cosma’s readings are made, this processing cannot be switched off separately — it is the product; withdrawing consent means deleting your account (section 7). We keep technical records of generations (model, timing, cost — no reading content); they are linked to your account while it exists and are irreversibly de-identified when you delete it.

Cosma’s readings are for reflection, inspiration and entertainment. They are not medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice, and they should not be the basis for significant decisions — see our Terms of Service.

4. How we use your information

• To compute your charts and generate your readings (see above).
• To keep your journal and conversation history available to you.
• To operate your subscription, if you have one, and unlock what you’ve paid for.
• To keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
• To diagnose problems and improve the app.
• To answer your support requests.

Staff access to content is deliberately narrow: our internal tools can show chat questions and answers (for abuse investigation and quality assurance) and account metadata — they cannot display your dreams, and your birth details are not exposed in them.

5. Third-party services

We rely on a small set of providers strictly to run Cosma:

• Apple — App Store distribution and payments.
• OpenRouter — the AI gateway that routes generation requests to the model providers (currently Google and OpenAI) as described in section 3.

We share with them only what section 3 describes, and we require that they protect it with the same or equal care as this policy provides; their processing of what they receive is also governed by their own privacy commitments.

Our own servers and database are hosted in the European Union.

6. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the providers listed above, to the extent needed to run Cosma, or where required by law. There are no social features: your charts, dreams, and conversations are visible only to you (and, for chat, the narrow staff access described in section 4).

7. Data retention & deletion

• Your profile, birth data, added people, dreams, and conversations are kept while you use Cosma so the app works.
• You can delete your account from within the app (Profile → Delete account). Deletion is immediate and irreversible: your profile and everything linked to it — birth data, added people, dreams and their images, questions and answers, and your generated readings — are permanently deleted. The technical generation records (section 3) are retained in de-identified form; nothing in them identifies you after deletion.
• After deletion the app immediately creates a new, empty anonymous account on your device, so you land back at onboarding.
• Deleting your account is also how you withdraw consent to the processing this policy describes.
• Backups. Our database provider keeps rolling backups for disaster recovery, stored in the EU. A backup taken before your deletion still contains your data for a limited period (about 30 days) before it expires; backups are used only to recover from failure.
• Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings.

8. Your choices & rights

• Use Cosma without an email, password, or any registration.
• Edit your birth data, and edit or delete added people, dreams, and questions in the app.
• Delete your account from within the app at any time (section 7).
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion). Contact us at support@cosmascope.com to exercise them.

9. Children

Cosma is not directed to children. You must be old enough to consent to this policy in your country (and in any case at least 13 years old).

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest (TLS everywhere, encrypted infrastructure, least-privilege access). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

11. International transfers

Generating a reading may involve processing by the AI model providers named in section 3 on servers outside your country (including outside the EU). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above; continued use of Cosma means you accept the updated policy.
